alpha and omega

It started as little tears

gnawing away at me

sharp little stabs

puncturing just deep enough

to draw the first drops

yet my tortured heart

soldiered on

weary and in pain

it continued to beat

But then

without warning

it ripped wide open

Blood came gushing out

in a series of tidal waves

so uncontrollable

I thought I would drown in it

No human can survive this

Nobody can withstand

losing so much blood

"This is surely my end" -- I thought

And it was

But it was also the beginning
