Ode to the Cancer Queen:

Cloistered nurturer,

giver of life,

warmth and kindness

exude

from of her embrace.

She is the world’s safest harbour.

Sweetness personified.

Doe-eyed darling,

she can’t help but

see goodness in others.

Often

more than they see themselves.

Sometimes a mirage,

mostly a projection.

Seeing her own heart

beat gently

in the chest of another

is the closest she’ll come

to seeing herself

with the undying love

she so freely gives to the world.
